WYCHERLEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL – ANNUAL INTER HOUSE SWIMMING MEET 2018 PEGASUS HOUSE IN THE LEAD

Swimming became part of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens. Competitive swimming became popular in the nineteenth century. The goal of competitive swimming is to beat the competitors in any given event. Wycherley has always believed that students should participate in Sports events, in order to give them a rounded background. The Annual Inter House Swimming Meet – true to this axiom – was held at the Royal College Swimming Pool on 2nd February 2018.

As one entered the arena, you could see the colourful buntings of the four houses – Apollo, Athena, Triton and Pegasus. The stands on either side were colourfully decorated and witnessed a gathering of Parents, Well wishers, Staff and Students who were at hand to witness and cheer the working out of the competition.

The events were categorised into Breast Stroke, Back Stroke, Butterfly Stroke and a Medley of Events – and terrific enthusiasm was shown by the Students as well as the Parents. The little kids of the Elementary Section also had their share of the day as there were events scheduled for UKG, Grade 1 and Grade 2. The Baby Pool saw the UKG kids in action, watched by doting Parents and Grandparents.

About 42 events were worked out on the day of the Meet, while another 42 comprising of the lengthier events were worked earlier.
